Ucan is fantastic for endurance sports. Higly recommend for distance runners
Can I add the Hydrate electrolyte to my routine with my energy drink and the edge when running a half-marathon. I currently use the energy drink about 30min before, and using the edge about every 45mins. Could I use the hydrate mix with my water and drink it throughout the run in addition to the edge.
What if I already use the UCAN POWER ENERGY? Can you use the Edge with the Power. My race is a half-marathon

I love Doc. Once upon a time, she and I began to be friends. Unfortunately, that discontinued. Listening to Doc speak on this video reminds me of so many beautiful conversations we've had. I wish we could have stayed friends, but knowing some of the details mentioned in this video, and now learning others, I can understand why we didn't. Not sure if you'll ever see this Doc, but... listening to you talk about your story, again melts my heart. Our parting ways hurt, which is why I played 'cold' at our Starbux 'Dean & Jasmine reunion' meetup. But so many years later, 15 yrs I think... looking at you, listening to you, makes me wish things played out differently. From far away... I cheer you on. You are a champion. You are an overcomer. Aren´t UCAN products sweetened with sugar alcohols like Erythritol that can cause bloating, gas and GI issues?
I'm not sure, all I know I've never had any of the issues you've described while using Ucan. Work great for me on my first marathon journey. Sticking with Ucan for my first ultra next year.

What supplements for training?
I’m 75, never tried repetition running. Ran 10k very slowly yesterday and do that once and awhile. Yes,for me running a 5K is hard but not suffering, just hard breathing. I like to win in my age group. I love the competition, but I also just love running. I’ll try your methods. My Runfit app helps me know my pace.

Here is the important question: how much of UCAN/hour can my stomach handle? For races of 12+ hours I need something that my stomach will not reject at one point.

Wtf with the intrrviewer amd carbofobic tone. Sugar is energy.
If meat, fish, and other high-fat foods cause type 2 diabetes, why would you encourage them? The fat builds up in the muscle cells and prevents the insulin to open the cell to allow the carbohydrates in.
Missing a discussion on quantities... a figure often cited is that a marathoner requires 60g of carbohydrates or more per hour, are we talking 12 UCAN Edge over a three hour race? 16 over four hours?! Starts adding up quickly.

8 gels/marathon? that sounds like an awful lot
I just began using UCAN about a month ago for various types of cycling including MTB, gravel and bikepacking. I specifically started using UCAN in preparation for my first 50-mile MTB ride/race. I used the Edge gels and the bars and supplemented a bit with Bobos and Larabars late in the ride just for satiation and variety. I FELT AMAZING for the entire day! I was blown away by how strong and energized I felt for the entire ride despite the he fact that the high temperature was 100 degrees! One guy that I was riding with is 30 years younger than me and another is 17 years younger than me and they did not feel or perform as well as I did.

STARTED running 9 mos. ago after turning 65…nice to hear the remarks on “suffering”, “mental toughness”, etc., so it’s not JUST ME! Did my 1st Turkey Trot 5k in 32 mins., felt all that pain, was pissed…vowed to get down into 29s next time. Am doing more dedicated training for the next one…thanks!
It's kind of reassuring to know that Olympic athletes and average Joe's like me suffer alike. The pain is like an old friend for me. I'm like "Oh you came a bit later today. Come on then, do your thing."

I really like this video especially the beginning. However I'm not too sure about the advice he gave at the end. With that being said the pushing for 5 to 10 minutes thing is probably the right thing to do NEAR THE END OF A RACE NOT TRAINING. However I really do like how he explained how to expose yourself to race pace workouts once or twice every week or every other week and increase the exposure over time. Now that is great advice and is something I will try to incorporate in my training.
I'm using ucan for a outlaw full tri I will be doing in July ...I did an 80 mile hilly bike ride a few days ago and didn't use the feed stations for food..just water ..and I flew round at a good pace with no crashes or at any point I didn't feel I was loosing energy and I had no stomach issues even once id finished :)

@@Zarathustra851 a continuous glucose monitor test, GI tolerance profiles, and athletic performance comparisons, and flavor tests would be a few helpful ways to compare homemade to UCAN.
